Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- Dr. Yeremia Tatang, who is treating David Ozora, the victim of assault by Mario Dandy (20), explained that David has sustained permanent damage to his brain nerves.
"After an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) a few weeks ago, there are white spots, specifically in the brainstem (corpus callosum) that connects the left and right brain, which are permanent," said Tatang during the trial at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (July 20), as quoted by Antara.
Tatang said that the white spots are indeed relatively shrinking but will not disappear and will leave a mark forever.
"Each person's response in health recovery is indeed different. I cannot yet determine David's maximum level of recovery," he said.
However, Tatang said, the injury to the nerve will leave a mark, so it cannot fully recover 100 percent.
From the latest examination results, David's physical condition has indeed improved enough for him to walk. However, just a few steps in, it would veer to the left. In addition, from the emotional and linguistic aspects, it has not yet recovered.
The Star Malaysia reported in September 2023 – David received intensive care and is still undergoing treatment.
